joy in small forms

This post is a celebration of pink. Is it mistitled then? No. Let me explain. I was wondering about what might be an interesting topic to blog about. What is "interesting"? Every little thing that I look at, every little deed, indeed everything appealing to the six senses (mind is the sixth sense). And, the answer came to me - capture a few things ( choose a criteria to filter stuff or its going to fill the whole blog!) in pink and post it...

I clocked at 5:30 PM with the pink mela to end after 24 hours. I went on with my usual daily routine, but just capturing all the pink stuff that I came by.

And here it is... none of the pictures are re-touched, nor modified. I tried to capture the objects in its natural state of existence.

What did I realise when I was working on this mini project?
  1. That life is colorful always, and just because of our attitude to ignore, we miss many little beautiful things in life. And, actually while I was looking at the tiny stuff, I had many moments of excitement (though it was for a few seconds, it could be sufficient to brighten your day!)
  2. I came across different shades of pink in the process - light pink, baby pink , hot pink, bright pink, carnation pink...When a color alone can take many shades in just a day of observance, be ready for a blend of multi shades in a life of 100 years :-)

Look at this half consumed vitamin water bottle lying in my sun room window.
when I captured it, I noticed the rain drops hitting the screen behind the glass window causing a pitter patter. I enjoyed it.

My Administrative assistant gave me these flowers two days back to thank me for helping her arrange a retirement party. It brought me a smile when I clicked this picture as I recollected how helpful I was ( she was a little sick at that time, and was relieved to have me help her)

I come across this flower bush if I take a shortcut (discovered by my brother) to the clubhouse in my apartment complex. Looks so soothing that, I regularly take the shortcut just to gaze at those tiny beauties.

At the sunset watch, after the sun disappears, this light pink tinge lasts for a few seconds before the world sinks in complete darkness for a night slumber. I was honored to have the presence of the moon as well :-)

In my car. No doubt, it was my pick!

And what did these moments of joy cost me? Probably, a few minutes of helping our near and dear, a few minutes of appreciating the nature, a few minutes of helping ourselves, a little time for ourselves. All these pictures are taken at my apartment/ within the apartment complex. Joy always and everywhere exists. Its just that we ignore to appreciate it.

Smile because it rained, because the sun shined.
Because you helped, because you lost a game.
Because the world looks beautiful, because you are alive.
Smile because it doesn't need a cause.

And a few words about pink - it symbolises feminity, and love. A pink ribbon stands for Breast cancer awareness and is worn as a badge in October to show solidarity with those fighting the deadly cancer.
