TidBites on recently read books

A book that I had been reading recently is Closer to the Shore that revolves around a shark that gets seperated from its school and attacked a lot of people in 8 days along the New Jersey shores. Initially, When people were attacked and injured, It was thought that a sea turtle has gone wild. Later, the fatalities and spotting of the dark fins concluded that it was a Shark. A shark has the ability to rip off a human leg or hand at a single bite. They can sense the presence of people from a very long distance with its special sensors. It could swim in waters as shallow as 3 feet. if your hand rubs to a passing shark to its side, it can cause bleeding injury to your skin. Later proved to be the inspiration for the movie Jaws that was a box office hit by Steven spielberg, the fatalities atleast most of them could be avoided if it has to happen in the current times with the advanced technology and treatment.

Speaking of Sharks, the other book where a percent of navy people board Juneau that was sunken during WW II were victims to shark attacks too though most of the fatalities in this case were due to late rescue attempts. This would be a good read and pretty much describes the misery and fighting to survive in the waters holding on to broken objects and rafts amidst the oil and fires from the exploded Juneau, and sharks that were looking out for every opportunity to attack.

"The Tragedy of Juneau" and "Closer to the Shore" would make a good afternoon thrilling reads for a lazy sunny day on the beach if you are not planning to get into the waters :)
