Rangoli

After researching to see if there is anyone who painted Rangolis on their front porch in usa, I figured it would be a unique topic to post considering the lack of any such information. How to paint rangolis in front of your yard - With the number of paint options available, it is a difficult decision to choose from fabric paints or spray paints or any other. Here is what I did - Make sure you check the weather first that it will not rain or snow in the next 24 hours. I did not do any sanding of the floor. I went to HomeDepot, chose the primary colors and a couple of secondary colors, a white one and they prepared it for me in sample tins. The whole project costed me around $30. 6 tins and a few  brushes that gives thin strokes which you can buy from Michaels as a set of 4 for $5. I should have also bought a thinner to soak my brushes in once I am done with a color which I did not. I should have though.

Draw the Kolam with chalk and start filling in the colors. The Kolam outline in white color needs to be done as a finishing touch. Let it dry through the night. Second coating/touchups can be done after 24 hours. Thanks to my mom who painted beautiful kolams in the Fall on a cool morning just before our housewarming.
